The holiday season can be a giving, joyous and cheerful time for many families. For parents who realize they cannot afford to purchase gifts for their children often creates feelings of stress, disappointment and sadness.
The University of San Diego Athletic Department, The College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, Community of Human Resources, The Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and student athletes will help bring happiness to the families of the Linda Vista Community through our 9th Annual Toreros Linking to the Community (TLC) Toy Drive, Donate a Dollar and Adopt a Family programs. Through our collective efforts the annual TLC Donate-a-Dollar and Toy Drive program has benefited more than 140 families by providing over $11,000 in donations and hundreds of gifts. This year, we will adopt 20 families and want to donate enough gifts for over 80 children.
Help us make a difference and fulfill the holiday wishes of deserving children throughout Linda Vista while delivering a message of hope with the gift of a new toy during the holidays. We are asking Torero fans to continue to show why they are among the best by participating in our toy drive.
Here are the ways you can contribute: You can donate a dollar or purchase a new toy and simply drop the unwrapped gift off at one of our men's and women's basketball games on the dates below. Torero volunteers will be collecting new and unwrapped toys or cash donations at entrance locations inside the Jenny Craig Pavilion. In exchange, we will offer a ticket voucher to an upcoming Torero Basketball game for each gift donated.
