Stephane Rochet
Head Strength and Conditioning Coach

Stephane Rochet assumed the position of Head Strength of Conditioning Coach at USD in January 2007.

Prior to coming to USD, Rochet was an assistant strength and conditioning coach at UCLA (1999-2001), Indiana University (2001-2003) and UC-Riverside (2004).

Rochet is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS), USA Weightlifting, CrossFit and the Russian Kettlebell Challenge. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Calgary and Master's degree from Ohio University.

 
Casey Burgener
Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

Casey Burgener joined the USD Sports Performance Staff in September 2008.

From 2000-2008, Burgener, one of America's top weightlifters, was a resident athlete at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. As a competitive weightlifter, Burgener won numerous championships and awards. He was twice crowned National Champion, won the Gold Medal at the 2006 Pan American Games, was a four time World Team Member and was twice recognized as "Lifter of the Year" by USA Weightlifting. In 2008, Burgener qualified for the U.S. Olympic Team.

Burgener boasts personal bests of 400 lbs in the snatch and 493 lbs in the clean and jerk.

Burgener earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs.

 
Natalie Woolfolk
Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

Natalie Woolfolk joined the USD Sports Performance Staff in September 2008.

Woolfolk is a tremendously accomplished weightlifter. She was a resident athlete at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs for several years. Woolfolk won National Championships three consecutive years (2005-2007) and was twice named USA Weightlifting's "Lifter of the Year." In 2008, Woolfolk qualified for the Olympic Team and competed for the USA in Beijing.

Woolfolk's personal best in the snatch is 220 lbs and her best clean and jerk is 260 lbs.

 
Derek Cantieni
Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach
Director of the McNamara Fitness Center

Derek Cantieni joined the USD Sports Performance Staff in August 2006.

Cantieni, who played football at Chabot Junior College, earned his degree in kinesiology from San Diego State. Cantieni is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS) and is an ATC through the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA).

In his first full year as a strength and conditioning coach, Cantieni was an instrumental part of the success enjoyed by severall USD teams, including conference champions Football, Baseball, Volleyball and Golf.

Cantieni is currently pursuing his Master's Degree at USD.
