Amy has been dancing for over 20 years. She started her dance training in Las Vegas, Nevada where she began dancing with the Silver Doll Dancers at age 5, and started competing at the age of 6. Amy continued her dance training as part of her high school dance team, Centennial Dance Fusion (a top ten nationally ranked hip hop team), went on to continue her training in college, and beyond. Amy has studied hip hop, jazz, contemporary, modern, ballet, cheer, and tap.
Amy graduated from the University of San Diego in 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy. During her time at USD, she was a four year member of the Dance Team and began assisting with choreography during her second year on the team. Amy served as Captain during her junior and senior year, and was brought on as the Assistant Coach for the three years after graduation.
Amy continued her dance training after graduating from the University of San Diego, as a member of the hip hop dance troupes Funkanometry San Diego and PGN Dance Company, which performed at showcases and events in the San Diego and San Francisco areas.
After a few years away, Amy recently relocated back to the San Diego area to pursue her career as a full time dance teacher, and has been named head coach for the USD Torero Spirit Team. She is excited to be back in San Diego, pursuing her dream, and with her University of San Diego family. She looks forward to continuing to grow the Spirit Team program that helped shape her love and passion for dance!
