FRESHMAN (2010): As a freshman appeared in 43 games for the Toreros with 14 games started... Helped lead the team to the 2010 WCC Championship...Hit .310 (22-for-71) with 10 RBI, nine runs scored, one double and one triple... Recorded two hits in three straight games (3/8/10 - 3/11/10) where over the course of the games he went 6-for-11 with three RBI and three runs scored...hit a tripled in the top of the 12thinning to begin a 6-run inning for USD to claim a win over San Francisco (3/2/10)...went 2-for-4 with two RBI against Portland (5/9/10)...went 2-for-4 with two RBI against Monmouth (3/8/10).

HIGH SCHOOL: Was a standout outfielder for the Kamehameha Warriors... As a senior he batted .429 with a .560 on-base percentage and a perfect fielding percentage on his way to earning first team All-State and first team ILH honors and leading his team to a third place finish in state... His junior year he batted .395 to go along with his .470 on-base percentage and a perfect fielding percentage

PERSONAL: Kalei Hanawahine was born on August 29 1991 in Wailuku, Maui, Hawaii... He is the son of George and Linelle Hanawahine... Was recruited by St. Mary's, Georgetown, Concordia and Hawaii... Chose to attend USD because of the excellent baseball program, great location and awesome academics... In his free time he enjoys bodysurfing, going to concerts, hanging out with friends, and playing Xbox 360
