JUNIOR (2013): Played in 61 games as a centerfielder, with 56 starts, and also made 16 appearances on the mound as a duel threat for the Toreros... helped lead the team to the WCC Tournament championship, and into the NCAA Regionals...offensively he hit .265 with 50 hits, 10 doubles, four triples, one home run and 25 RBI...on the mound, he posted a 3-3 record with a 3.24 ERA...he recorded 35 strikeouts and only issued 17 walks in 50.0 innings of work...had perhaps his best performance on the mound of his Torero career in a win against UC Irvine, as he allowed two runs, one earned, on five hits, while striking out five batters in 6.0 innings of work...he allowed three runs on five hits, while picking up a win over BYU in the WCC Tournament in 6.2 innings of work (5/24)...recorded seven strikeouts against Oregon State (3/29)...recorded six strikeouts against Holy Cross (3/9)...went 2-for-4 with a double and four RBI against Kent State (2/24)...went 4-for-5 with a double and two RBI against Saint Louis (3/9)...went 4-for-5 with three RBI against Holy Cross (3/9)...went 4-for-6 with a double and two RBI against Portland (5/12)...went 3-for-4 against San Francisco (5/24)...went 3-for-5 with two RBI against BYU (5/24).
SOPHOMORE (2012): Earned All-Conference Honorable Mention after hitting .311 in 57 starts in the outfield... Totaled 33 RBI, ten doubles, 39 runs, and one home run in his first year with the Toreros...Went 4-for-6 with three runs against Lipscomb on March 6, 2012.
FRESHMAN (2011): Played baseball at California, helping the Golden Bears post a 38-23 overall record and he helped the team reach the College World Series...he hit .286 with 16 hits, one double, one home run and five RBI in 56 plate appearances...on the mound, he posted a 1-1 record with a 4.58 ERA in seven appearances and one start...he recorded 14 strikeouts and walked 14 batters in 19.1 innings of work.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played high school baseball at St. Mary's High School in Stockton, Calif...he hit .457 with eight home runs, 27 RBI and 14 stolen bases as a junior at St. Mary's High School, while also going 3-1 with a 2.48 ERA and 63 strikeouts in 48.0 innings on the mound...he was a 2009 TCAL MVP and a Cal Hi Sports second-team All-State selection as well...in June, 2010, Lechich was a 43rd round draft pick of the Oakland A's...he also lettered in football and was named 1st team All Area both his junior and senior year
PERSONAL: Louis Albert Lechich was born on Nov. 19, 1991 in Stockton, CA...he is the son of Jim and Lynne Lechich...he was also recruited by CAL, USC, Oregon State and Oregon...he chose USD because of the development of baseball ability and skill...his he was also recruited by many Division 1 schools to play football.
