SOPHOMORE (2011): Made 20 appearances and five game starts with an 3.40 ERA in 42.1 innings pitched...accumulated 41 strikeouts with an overall record of 3-5...had his first game start against UCONN (3/12/2011)...recorded his longest outing against Oregon, pitching 5.1 innings with four strikeouts...Totaled eight strikeouts in 5 innings of work against Fresno State on March 26, 2011.

COLLEGE: Played one season at Chandler-Gilbert Junior College...he finished up 2010 with a 9-4 record with a .194 ERA in 95 innings of work.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played baseball at Highland High School for Coach Scott Cook...during his senior season was an All State selection, and Pitcher of the Year...he was an All-Region selection as a junior, and a second-team All-Region selection as a sophomore...was a 40th round draft selection by the Arizona Diamond Backs in the 2009 draft.

PERSONAL: James Pazos was born on May 5, 1991 in Mesa, Ariz....he is the son of Julio and Teresa Pazos... he was heavily recruited by Arizona State, Arizona, Oregon, Texas, Coastal Carolina, South Carolina, and UCLA...chose to attend USD because it's a great place to play and because of the great baseball program...his mother Teresa played Volleyball at South Carolina, and his father Julio competed in Wrestling, Football, and Track at Arizona State.
