SAN DIEGO, Calif. -Kris Bryant's sixth home run of the season, lifted the University of San Diego baseball team to a thrilling 2-1 victory over Seton Hall University Wednesday evening in a non-conference game at Fowler Park and Cunningham Field.

Kris Bryant led the Toreros to a 2-1 victory over Seton Hall
The game began as a pitchers dual, as both team's offense was held at bay. Finally in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Toreros were able to heat up the bats and push across some runs. Logan Davis got things started with a single to left field. Two batters later, Bryant stepped to the plate, and he unleashed his third home run in two days, a 2-run blast over the left centerfield fence to give USD a 2-0 lead.
The Pirates then managed to cut the lead in half in the top of the eighth inning. The SHU run came on a Mike Genovese RBI single right field, which scored Zach Granite, who has singled, move the score to 2-1.
Dylan Covey then came on and shut down the Pirates offense, and any hope of a rally, as he picked up his first career save, allowing no runs on two hits in 1.1 innings of work. Max MacNabb (1-2) was credited with the win, as he allowed one run on three hits, while striking out six in 3.1 innings of work. SHU's Anthony Elia (0-2) was saddled with the loss for the Pirates, as he allowed one run on one hit n 0.0 innings of work.
Offensively for the Toreros, Bryant led the way, as he went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI.
The Toreros will return to action on Friday, as they take on Holy Cross in a 6:30 p.m. game as part of the USD Tournament.
