SAN DIEGO, Calif. - University of San Diego baseball players Connor Joe and Andrew Daniel have been named Cape Cod League All-Stars, it was announced by the league this past Saturday. Joe will represent the Eastern Division as the starting catcher, while Daniel will be a reserve outfielder for the Eastern Division.
Tabbed a first-team All-West Coast Conference selection for the Toreros, Joe has continued his stellar play this summer with the Chatham Anglers, who are leading the entire Cape Cod League with a 23-9 overall record. Through this past Friday night's action, Joe was batting .316 with 36 hits, nine doubles, one triple, three home runs and 20 RBI.
San Diego's shortstop for the last two seasons, Daniel has turned in a strong summer in a different role with the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox as an outfielder. The San Diego, Calif. native, who recently completed his sophomore season with the Toreros, is hitting .297 with 22 hits, one double and has 14 RBI.
The 2013 Cape Cod League All-Star game will be played Saturday, July 27, at Red Wilson Field in South Yarmouth, Mass., home of the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox. FOX College Sports Atlantic will televise the game.
