Position:
Dir. of Basketball Operations (2nd Year)

Booker T. Harris begins his second year as the program's Director of Basketball Operations. Harris came to USD from Cal State San Bernardino where he had been an assistant coach for the Coyotes since the 2003-04 season. Working under head coach Jeff Oliver, the Coyotes finished 26-6 overall in 2006-07, won the NCAA West Regional Championship and advanced to the NCAA Division II semifinals. During his four-year tenure the basketball program was a combined 86-28. In addition to his coaching duties, Harris also served as Director of the Coyotes' youth basketball summer camps.

"We are excited to have Booker on our staff," said Torero head coach Bill Grier. "He brings a lot of experience having worked at Long Beach State and Cal State San Bernardino. He has good recruiting contacts; he'll be great for us in the day-to-day operations of our program, and with his relationships with the players."

Prior to joining the Cal State San Bernardino staff, Harris was the strength and conditioning coach at Long Beach State for one season (2002-03). He started his coaching career at Sonoma State University in 2001-02, and later would earn his master's degree in 2003 from Sonona State.

A 1999 graduate of the University of San Francisco where he earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Harris played three seasons (1996-99) for the Dons basketball program under head coach Philip Mathews. He was a member of the 1997-98 WCC Tournament champions that played NCAA finalist Utah in the first round of the NCAA's. He was also a two-time selection to the West Coast Conference All-Academic Team (1998 & 1999).

From San Francisco, he prepped at Bridgemont High School where he averaged 22 points per game as a senior and was coached by his father (also Booker T. Harris).
