USD has several fast times on the water in the first day of racing.
High School: Attended Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas...lettered in Men's Crew...as a junior helped lead his team to a State and Regional Championship...as a junior, he was a Bronze Medalist at the South Western Ergometer Amateur Tournament...as a senior was team captain and was a silver medalist at the South Western Ergometer Amateur Tournament...rowed with the club team Jesuit Rangers, where the Freshman 8+ ranked second nationally for private schools (07-08); Varsity Lightweight 8+ ranked 12th in the nation ('08-'09); Lightweight 8+ ranked 4th in the nation for private schools ('09-'10); Varsity 8+ ranked 7th in the nation for private schools ('10-'11).
Personal: John Bacic was born on July 18, 1993 in Dallas, TX...he is the son of Robert Bacic...is majoring in Accounting...chose to attend USD so that he could row with a collegiate program that will push him and to attend a renowned university, and to attend a well renowned university that will expand my academic intellect and allow me to participate in a wide variety of organizations...was also recruited by University of Pennsylvania, University of Delaware, Oregon State University, Naval Academy, Fairfield, Marietta College, Purdue, Santa Clara, Hamilton College...also notes that over the course of rowing in high school, he earned over 35 medals from races such as the South Western Ergometer Amateurs Tournament, Head of the Hooch in Tennessee, Head of the Oklahoma, Heart of Texas, Centray Youth District Championships, and Stotesbury Cup Regatta.
