HIGH SCHOOL: Rowed for the varsity rowing team three years at Brophy Prep...as a senior, he was named the Varsity Rower of the Year after helping his team place seventh at the Youth National Championships in the Lightweight 2X...he also placed third at Club Nationals in the Senior Leightweight 1X...as a junior, he placed eighth at the Youth Nationals in the 2X and as a sophomore he placed sixth at the Club Nationals in the Junior B 2X...also rowed for the Tempe Junior Crew club team.
PERSONAL: Stephen Wainwright was born on March 11, 1991 in Phoenix, Ariz....he is the son of Jonathan Wainwright and Melinda Wainwright...he was also recruited by Boston College...chose to attend USD because of the location and friendly student body...notes that in his high school rowing career, he rowed in 10 different states, and he would like to row in all 50 states sometime during his life.
