12/14/2010 2010 USD Football Awards BanquetFifteen awards were handed out to members of the USD football team for their performances during the 2010 season. 11/12/2009 Football vs. Marist on Sept. 19thPhotos of players from game against Marist on September 19th. USD: Fifth year player will compete for playing time with the defensive unit at defensive back... Last year appeared in 11 contests and finished with 26 tackles (17 solo)... Season-best 5 tackles (4 solo) twice (at Butler, Oct. 3; at Morehead State, Nov. 14)... In 2008 as a defensive back appeared in all 11 games for the Toreros... Totaled 15 unassisted tackles including 4 in a home victory over Azusa Pacific... In 2007 appeared in 10 games at running back where he totaled 171 yards rushing and 1 TD... Season-best 51 yards rushing on 13 carries in win over Jacksonville... Cashed in on a 25-yard TD run against Butler... Hauled in 3 passes for 62 yards and 2 TDs (Valpo & Drake)... Sat out the 2006 season as a redshirt but was named the team's Offensive Scout Team player of the year. High School: Attended Chaminade College Prep where he played for coach Ben McEnroe... Senior year was MVP of East-West All-Star game... First Team All-League... Rushed for over 700 yards and had over 500 yards receiving... Junior year was First Team All-League and Offensive MVP... Also lettered in track & field where he was a MVP four straight years. Personal: Born on March 8, 1988 in Northridge, CA... His mother, Derreatha Juarez, resides in Granada Hills, CA... Chose USD for good academics, football and being close to home... Also recruited by UC Davis, Dartmouth and Villanova. Major: Sociology. Minor: Business. |
