USD: Chase McBride enters his third season at USD where he will start again in the Torero secondary at safety... Last year he played in all 12 games with 37 tackles (15 solo), 7 pass breakups and 1 interception... Season-best 8 tackles in home win over Yale... In 2004 started first four games but was lost for rest of season with knee injury... earned PFL Defensive Player of the Week (Sept. 12th) after totaling 10 tackles and returning an interception 84 yards for a TD in win at Holy Cross... Did not play football in 2003. High School/College: During the 2002 season was a first-year freshman walk-on safety on the USC squad that finished 11-2 and won the Orange Bowl... Did not play for the Trojans this past season... From nearby Solana Beach, he prepped at Santa Fe Christian where he played for Brian Sipe... Senior year rushed for over 1,000 yards with team going 12-0 and winning CIF and State Championship... Named All-State, All-CIF and All-Coastal League... Also lettered in basketball and golf, earning All-League and All-CIF honors in basketball Personal: Born on November 28, 1983 in Wichita, Kansas... Chose to transfer to USD for academics and chance to play with football again... Out of high school was recruited by USC, Cal, Colorado State and Ivy League programs... His father, Mike, played basketball for West Texas State. Major: Business (Real Estate emphasis). |
