Last two seasons has played a key starting role with offensive line unit with both run blocking and pass protection at left guard and center... Freshman season saw action with offensive line unit at left tackle.

High School: Prepped at Woodrow Wilson Classical HS where he played for Coach Mario Morales... Senior year named team captain, 2nd Team All-League, Captain Award, Special Teams Player of the Year, and invited to 605 All-Star Game... Junior year was named a Scholar-Athlete and Special Teams Player of the Year.

Personal: Born on August 14, 1988 in Long Beach, CA... Parents are John & Patti Smith of Long Beach... Chose USD for team quality, academics and location of school... Also recruited by USC, Colorado, Occidental, Chapman and Trinity... Only current athlete at USD in the "Gold Club" for weightlifting... Football rep on Student-Athlete Advisory Committee at USD... Enjoys surfing... Named to PFL Honor Roll twice and been a Dean's List honoree four semesters.
