High School: Played for nearby Grossmont HS, where he was named All-League and Defensive MVP his senior season with 110 tackles and five forced fumbles... Helped Grossmont to the Grossmont North League Championship with 80 tackles and three interceptions his junior season... Also was an All-League baseball player.
