Joe Staab

Position: Asst. Coach, Safeties/Recruiting Coor. (3rd yr.)

Joe Staab enters his third season as a member of the Torero coaching staff. Besides being the program's Recruiting Coordinator, Staab will coach Torero safeties on the defensive side of the ball. Prior to joining the coaching staff, Staab spent five years as a student-athlete with the USD team.

His last four years he competed with the defensive unit and special teams unit with San Diego going a combined 40-6 during this span. During his senior campaign in 2008 he appeared in ten contests, and in 2007 he played in 11 games with 31 tackles (17 solo stops).

From San Diego, Joe prepped at nearby Grossmont High School. He graduated from USD with a Business degree and minor in Accounting.
