    CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- College Football Performance Awards, the largest awards organization in D-I college football, recently announced its watch list for the 2013 CFPA FCS Quarterback Award, and San Diego quarterback Mason Mills earned a spot on the list. The preliminary watch list highlights thirty-two returning performers, vying for the top quarterback honor in the Football Championship Subdivision.

    DALLAS, May 3, 2013 - The National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) announced the members of the 2013 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, which is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college career. A total of 703 players from 259 schools qualified for membership in the society's seventh year, marking the highest school participation in the history of the program, which began in 2007. USD had four senior student-athletes recognized - linebacker Zach Dunaj (Thousand Oaks, Calif.), tight end Kyle Lokanc (San Diego, Calif.), offensive lineman Matt Peleti (Laguna Nigel, Calif.) and safety Joey York (Pleasant Hill, Calif.).

    Timothy Lynch `95 (BA), a four-year football player for the USD Toreros from 1991-94, has gone on to do great things in the field of film making. At the recent 55th Annual Grammy Awards, he was one of the video producers for the "Big Easy Express," Mumford & Sons, that won a Grammy for Best Long Form Music Video. Despite his national success, he has not forgotten his USD ties. This past season he volunteered his time and resources to produce a USD football promotional film that is just outstanding.
