PALM VALLEY, Ariz. - The USD golf team placed 5th out of 15 teams at the recent 2008 Ron Moore Invitational. After two solid opening team rounds of 277 & 278, the Toreros slipped in the final round (301) to finish at 856. Kansas State won the team event (845) while Boise State's Troy Merritt won medalist honors for the second straight year. USD's Blake Trimble carded three solid rounds to finish tied for 5th overall at 209 (69-66-74). Following Kansas State and ahead of USD were Ohio State (847), Utah (851) and Boise State (852).

Following Trimble in scoring for the Toreros was Jason Shano (t28 at 216; 69-70-77), Jake Yount (t34 at 217; 72-74-71), Darrin Hall (t40 at 218; 71-68-79) and Gunner Wiebe (t67 at 227; 68-75-84). Toreros playing as individuals included Ian Coffman (216; 68-72-76), Dale Smith (219; 75-71-73), Joe Panzeri (220; 72-72-76), and Ben Murray (221; 74-75-72).

The Toreros travel to Austin, Texas for the Morris Williams Intercollegiate on April 7th.
