Toreros tied for 8th after round one of Falcon Invitational

The USD golf team finds itself tied for 8th (19 teams) after day one of the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational being played in Colorado Springs, Colorado on the USAFA Eisenhower Blue Course. The Toreros shot a team score of 292 (+4) and are tied with Wyoming. Colorado leads with a 276 (-12) and is followed by Colorado State (282) and UNLV (284). USD senior Alex Ching (Honolulu, HI) fired the team's best score with a 71. He was followed by Grant Forrest and Leon Knoll, both tied for 33rd with 73's, and Linus Vaisanen (75; t-60) and Joe Carlson (78; t-85).

Colorado State's Zahkai Brown fired the low round of the day with a 66. He is followed by Colorado-CO Springs Spencer Biersdorff and Northern Iowa's Roberto Ballesteros, both with 67. Second round action begins Monday morning at 7:30 a.m. with groups teeing off on both No. 1 and No. 10 holes.
