Guillermo Rodriguez returns for his fourth year with the USD coaching staff as a volunteer helping to fine-tune the goalkeepers.
Most recently, Rodriguez has been appointed the head coach position as well as the director of goalkeeping for the U-9 Three Lions boys team and is also the director of goalkeeping for the Carlsbad Lightning soccer club. He is also the Senior Staff Coach at Soccer Plus Goalkeeping Academy for the past four years.
As a keeper for Niagara University men's soccer team from 1996-2000, he studied under now Cornell University Keeper coach Ziggy Zagante who was also a former MLS coach. Rodriguez was a four-year starter for the Purple Eagles and to this day, remains in the record books in 11 seperate categories (most noteably, best career goals against average with 1.81, most career saves at 346, most career shutouts with nine, and most starts in goal with 54). He was the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference goalkeeper of the year as a freshman and player of the week twice that season. Rodriguez graduated with a BS in Commerce with a focus on Management.
