Junior ('10-'11): Went 14-7 in overall singles in his first year as a Torero and 11-3 in dual singles playing primarily at No. 3... Was named first-team All-WCC in singles and doubles (w/ Dean Jackson)... Won a career-high nine-consecutive singles matches between February 5th and April 13th... Missed one month of the spring season... In doubles, paired exclusively with Dean Jackson, going 20-5 overall and 12-3 in dual play... Opened the spring season with a Campbell/ITA doubles ranking of No. 7 on January 4th and remained in the Top-25 throughout the season... Competed in the NCAA Doubles Championships with Jackson, losing in the first round to Tulsa's 24th-ranked duo of Clifford Marsland and Ashley Watling 6-4, 7-5... In the fall, went 1-4 in singles and 7-1 in doubles, earning WCC Player of the Month honors in doubles with Jackson for the month of October... Teamed with Jackson to defeat eventual national doubles champions Jeff Dadamo and Austin Krajicek of Texas A&M, then-ranked No. 4, 8-1 on October 7th in the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.... Earned WCC first-team All-Academic honors in the spring with a 3.49 GPA, while also being named to the WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll.
Sophomore ('09-'10): While at the University of Wisconsin went 23-9 overall in singles, including a 17-3 record in the Big Ten as the No. 3...he posted a 22-12 overall record in doubles while competing primarily out of the No. 2 or No. 3 doubles spots...defeated two ranked opponents in the first round of NCAA competition in singles...qualified for ITA Midwest regional at ITA All-American Championship in singles...advanced to the round of 16 at H.E.B. Baylor Invitational...in doubles, advanced to round of 32 at ITA Midwest Regional and quarterfinals at H.E.B. Baylor Invitational...earned Academic All-Big Ten honors.
Freshman ('08-'09): Wisconsin's Team Newcomer of the Year...competed at the No. 3 slot...posted a 16-3 overall singles record, including a 9-1 mark in Big Ten Duals and a 1-0 record in the Big Ten Tournament...was 11-10 overall at No. 2 doubles.
High School/Junior: Ranked in the top 100 of German tennis rankings...ranked as high as 15th in the under-18 age group...three-time runner-up in Juniors and Men's Regionals Tournaments.
Personal: Born Jun. 7, 1988 in Cologne, Germany...son of Alice and Walter Pohlmann...chose USD because of the location, school, and tennis program...was also recruited by UCLA, Pepperdine, Baylor, Miami, and Rice...notes that he enjoys going out and hanging out with friends...his goal is to reach the Sweet 16 again.
