USD will compete in the Western Regional in Seattle on Nov. 9 at Jefferson Golf Course.
Junior (2011-12): Was a team captain... Clocked his season-best at the UC Riverside Invitational with an 8k time of 26:32.7... Finished in 49th place at the WCC Championships with a time of 27:16... Also competed in the Stanford Invite (27:21) and Bronco Invite (26:47.9)... In the spring, ran a personal-best 4:06.52 in the 1500m at the UCSD Triton Invite... Named to the WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll with a 3.73 GPA.
High School: Attended Damien High School... Only ran one season of high school cross country... Was team captain his senior year... Ran a 4:38.60 mile and a 2:04.00 800m at the Sierra League Finals his senior year... His team was Sierra League champions his senior year... Also earned three varsity letters in soccer and two in track... Won the Scholar-Athlete Award in cross country and track.
Personal: Born October 16, 1991 in Upland, Calif.... Parents are Kelly and Laura Bruce... Chose USD because of the beautiful campus, Catholic identity and academic environment... Is a USD Scholar Student-Athlete in 2010-11 and 2011-12 and is a Trustee Scholar and Keck Fellow... Member of the USD Honors Program.
