USD: Jacobs is a junior this year at the university and it is his third year on the cross country team. He earned a USD varsity letter last year for cross country, too. In addition, Chris was voted team MVP last year by his peers.
Prep/Club: He attended Vista High School and was on the varsity cross country team all four years under head coaches Pete Brooks, Paul Kinder, Ed Matthews, and Candice Kordis. In his sophomore year of high school, Jacobs ran the mile in 4:30 and his team was the League Champs. He ran the 3 miles in 15:01 his junior year earning an individual honor of State qualifier. In his senior year, he ran the mile in 4:25, was State qualifier in the 4 x 400 relay, and overall finished twelfth place at State. Jacobs was also on the track on field team.
Personal: Jacobs was born in Gardena, CA on May 3, 1987, but mostly grew up in his hometown Vista, CA. He chose to go to USD because of the location. Jacobs real name is actually Michael, Chris is his middle name.
Major: Double Majoring in Mechanical Engineering and Political Science
