USD will host Hawaii on Thursday for first round WNIT action
SOPHOMORE (2011-12): Named All WCC Honorable Mention... Played in 33 games with 29 starts at shooting guard... averaged 11.4 ppg, while shooting .415 from the field... scored in double figures in 18 games... scored a season-high of 25 points in a win against Portland in the quarterfinal of the WCC Tournament (3/2/12)...scored 19 points against Brigham Young (1/14/12)... scored 18 points in wins against Saint Mary's (1/7/12) and (2/23/12)... scored 17 points on two different occasions, once against Colgate (11/28/11) and the other against Loyola Marymount (1/12/12)... also scored 16 points in a win against Pacific (12/11/11)... pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds on two different occasions, once against Pacific (12/11/11) and the other against Santa Clara (2/2/12)... helped lead the team into the Final Four of the WNIT...helped the team record a program-best 24-9 overall record...helped the team finish in a tie for second place in the WCC, with a 12-4 mark, which set a new program record for most WCC wins in program-history.
FRESHMAN (2010-11): Played in 22 games with two starts as a shooting guard...averaged 3.7 ppg, while shooting .425 from the field...helped lead the team to the semifinals of the WCC Tournament...scored a career-high 12 points on two different occasions, once against No. 24 Gonzaga (2/26/11) and the other against Pepperdine (3/5/11)...also scored 10 points in a win against Cal State Northridge (1/19/11)...pulled down a career-high eight rebounds against Cal State Northridge (1/19/11)...pulled down seven rebounds against Portland (1/27/11).
HIGH SCHOOL: Played basketball at Central High School...she was a four-time first-team All-Southwestern League selection...as a senior she averaged 26 points, nine rebounds and four assists per game en route to being named the Southwestern League Player of the Year...in her senior season, she helped her team reach the Sweet-16 of the 5A State tournament...as a senior she was named the Maxpreps Player of the Year...as a junior, she averaged 23 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, and 3.2 steals per game en route to helping lead her team to an 18-8 overall record and into the Great Eight of the state playoffs...in her junior season, she was named to "The Show" All-Star game, one of only two juniors in the state to play in this game...as a sophomore, she averaged 19 points, and helped her team reach the Sweet-16 of the state 5A playoffs. She took home All-State honorable mention honors.
PERSONAL: Amy Elisa Kame was born on February 14, 1992...she is the daughter of Cheryl Vana and Lanton Kame...was also recruited by Colorado State, Denver, San Diego State, Wyoming, UNLV, Kansas State, and the University of Houston...chose to attend USD because of the coaching staff and players, who made her feel like the women's basketball program was her family...additionally, she loves the academic opportunities the university has to offer as well as the city itself.
