JUNIOR (2011): Played in 20 matches with 11 starts as a midfielders for the Toreros...scored two goals and added in one assist for five points...helped lead the team to the program's first WCC championship, and into the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament...scored one goal against UC Irvine (9/25/11)...scored one goal against Pacific (9-/26/11)...recorded one assist against Pacific (9/26/11).
SOPHOMORE (2010): Played in 14 matches with five starts as a mainstay in the Toreros midfield...recorded two goals and one assist for five points...scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 win against Saint Mary's (10/17/10)...scored one goal in a 4-1 win against Arizona (9/27/10)...recorded one assist in a 2-1 win against Pepperdine (10/29/10)...helped the Toreros earn an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament.
FRESHMAN (2009): Played in 20 matches this season with 10 starts total...scored the only goal for the Toreros against CSU Bakersfield (8-23-09)...had a total of four assists, two of which were during the Cal State Northridge game (8-21-09)...ended the season with total of six points... helped the team finish second in the prestigious West Coast Conference and earn a trip to the NCAA Tournament.
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Earned four varsity letters in soccer while playing at La Jolla Country Day...was named her team's MVP after leading the team in goals scored in her senior season...was the lone freshman to make the varsity squad in her freshman team...as a freshman, she helped lead her team to the CIF IV Championship...won the coaches award as a junior...she is a member of the San Diego Surf Club team and helped the team win the 2007 and 2008 Surf Cup championships.
PERSONAL: Sierra Ferreira was born on March 5, 1992...she is the daughter of Pedro and Gina Ferreira...was heavily recruited by Stanford, Harvard, Dartmouth, Georgetown and Pepperdine...chose to attend USD because of the outstanding women's soccer program, the rigor of the academic courses available to students, the coaching staff and it is close to home...she notes that she skipped the first grade and has been the youngest member of her grade all through school...she is the first member of her family to go to college, along with her brother, Roman, who is one year older, but same year academically, and her brother will play football at Whittier College.
