LaPorte joined the varsity staff for the Titans as an assistant coach for four years and in 2006, he coached the freshman girls to an undefeated season. During the 2007 season, LaPorte was the varsity assistant and coached La Costa Canyon's boys freshman to an undefeated season. Currently, LaPorte is also a goalkeeper and women's head coach for San Diego Surf. LaPorte assists San Diego Surf's Academy Program under Colin Chesters.
