SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The University of San Diego women's soccer team had two players, Natalie Vinti and Jackie Garcia, invited to join the Mexican National team.
Vinti, a 5-7 sophomore from San Diego, helped lead the Toreros defense to a 0.69 goals-against-average, including 11 shutouts on the season as she played and started in all 20 matches this season. Vinti tallied three assists for three points this season in helping USD to a program-best 15-3-3 overall record, a second place finish in the WCC and a berth into the NCAA Tournament.
Garcia, a 5-6 junior from Hemet, Calif., helped lead the Toreros to a program-best 15-3-3 overall record, a second place finish in the WCC and a berth into the NCAA Tournament this past season. On the year, Garcia recorded one goal, a game winner against Gonzaga, and tallied two assists for four points.
