Harmonson, a 2006 graduate from the University of San Diego and a former player of Coach McElvain's, serves as the Toreros' pitching coach. Harmonson's pitching staff finished the 2012 season with the second-best ERA (2.56) in the Pacific Coast Softball Conference as well as led the conference in strikeouts (324) and finished second in opposing batting avg. (.246). Harmonson also coached RHP Jenny Lahitte, who threw the second no-hitter in USD history at Saint Mary's on Apr. 6, 2012.

Coach Mac's first recruit to verbally commit with the Toreros, she quickly became a leader on the softball team. She was named co-captain her senior year. During her career she had an ERA of 3.38 with a season-best of 2.86 as a junior. She still remains in seven career record categories at USD: 23 wins (10th), 89 appearances (7th), 64 games started (7th), 29 complete games (8th), 385.1 innings pitched (9th), 239 strikeouts (5th), and four shutouts (6th).

A 2002 graduate of Scripps Ranch High School, she was selected first-team All-Eastern League and second-team All-CIF her senior year. She set a single game strikeout record with 22 strikeouts, earning team MVP and the Coaches Award. During her Junior year she also earned the Coaches Award and was named the team's Player of the Year as a sophomore. During the off-season she played for the SoCal Alliance club team.

Graduating in 2006 with a degree in English, Harmonson has been working as a grant writer at Casa de Amparo in Oceanside, California. The organization works to treat and prevent child abuse and neglect in San Diego County. She stays current with softball by coaching private pitching lessons in North County, and has worked with pitchers at USD's summer camps for the last seven years.
