Jessica Williams joined the Torero softball staff in August of 2011. Her primary duties with USD are coaching the infielders and hitters. Under Williams' guidance, the 2012 Toreros set a new USD record for home runs in a season with 28.
Williams played collegiately at Marshall University from 2003-2006. Following her playing career at Marshall, Williams served as an assistant coach with the Thundering Herd during the 2007 season before moving on to serve as the hitting and infield coach at Western Carolina University during the 2008 and 2009 seasons.
While at Marshall, Williams was a first-team All-Conference USA shortstop, team captain and Academic All-American. She finished her career at Marshall in the top five of six different career categories. She was a four-time all-conference selection as well as a three-year captain and earned the team's Softball Leadership Award as a senior.
Williams played professional softball in the NPF (National Pro Fastpitch) for the past six seasons and finished the 2011 season with the Akron (Ohio) Racers.
