The nine WCC schools put a total of 1,093 student-athletes on the list from the 13 sports that the conference sponsors, which is another new conference record.
Taylor Paschen and Chris Flaherty each set team records in the 1000 meter.
Freshman (2011-12): Competed in the Fullerton Invite (6k; 24.53.4) and the UC Riverside Invitational (6k; 19:51.9)... In the spring, competed in the 3,000m and 5,000m, clocking her best time of 11:40.5 in the 3k at the Point Loma Collegiate meet.
High School: Attended Murrieta Valley High School where she competed in cross country, track and field, and soccer, earning four varsity letters overall... Ran for head coach Steve Chavez... As a senior, was named Murrieta Valley HS Scholar Athlete of the Year and second-team All-Southwestern League in cross country... Clocked a time of 19:01 in the Mt. Sac Invitational 5K and 18:40 in the Woodbridge Invitational... Helped her team become Mt. Sac Division I Varsity finalists... In her junior year, won the Coaches Award, while notching a season-high 5K time of 18:30 and a 1600m time of 5:30... Her team advanced to the CIF Division I finals at the Mt. Sac Invitational... As a freshman, helped lead her team to the Woodbridge Freshman Girls Division I championship and the Inland Empire Division I championship... Also earned two varsity letters in track and field... Was named MVP of her soccer team and the captain of the frosh/soph squad... Helped lead her soccer team to the freshman Southwestern League Division I championship... Competed with the TVSA Women's Soccer club team where she served as captain.
Personal: Born December 16, 1993 in Orange, Calif.... Parents are Rick and Joni Anderson... Chose USD because of the small, private Catholic academic and athletic environment and the beautiful campus and city... Was also recruited by Pepperdine... Her father played football at USD as well as Saddleback Junior College... She has traveled all over the world, owns three horses, and enjoys the outdoors, reading, knitting, studying and academics... Works at Chic-fil-A! and aspires to earn a career in medical malpractice.
