The nine WCC schools put a total of 1,093 student-athletes on the list from the 13 sports that the conference sponsors, which is another new conference record.
FRESHMAN (2011): Played in seven matches as an outside hitter... helped lead the team to the second round of the NCAA Tournament...recorded a total of four kills and had one block... helped lead the team to the best overall record in program history at 28-5.
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Played volleyball at William Henry Harrison High School...As a senior, she was named All-State, her team's MVP, took home All-State academic honors, was named first-team All-Indiana Crossroads League and was named All-Area Player of the Year...left her career as the No. 3 all-time leader in kills with 1,111, third all-time in solo blocks with 90 and was second all-time in attack attempts at 2,764...as a junior, she was named her team's MVP, was named second-team All-State, was an All-Indiana Crossroads League selection and named All-Area Player of the Year...as a sophomore, she took home All-Indiana Crossroads League honors...also lettered in basketball and swimming...played club volleyball for the Circle City Volleyball Club.
PERSONAL: Alexa Kay Banker was born on May 8, 1993 in West Lafayette, Ind....she is the daughter of Lisa and Bill banker...chose to attend USD because of the outstanding volleyball program, and the weather in San Diego.
